Hekson: Bringing Wacker Neuson closer to agricultural customers in Mpumalanga

We are pleased to welcome specialist agricultural equipment supplier Hekson as our new agricultural dealer in Mpumalanga, bringing Wacker Neuson’s compact equipment range closer to customers across the Lowveld, greater Mbombela area and surrounding agricultural regions. The partnership, concluded in the first quarter of 2026, combines Hekson’s established agricultural customer relationships and local expertise with Wacker Neuson’s compact equipment and global manufacturer support.

Hekson has built its reputation on practical agricultural equipment and dependable after-sales support. Founded in 2021, the business began trading used farm equipment before expanding into new agricultural equipment, repairs and maintenance. Its close involvement with the orchard farming industry has also led to specialist expertise in the maintenance, repair and manufacturing of orchard sprayers, while Hekson designs and manufactures its own range of products. “To maintain high service standards, we invested in technical capability, employing a dedicated technician for repairs and maintenance. This service-driven approach quickly became a definitive strength, building a reputation for reliable products backed by dependable after-sales support. Working closely with the orchard farming industry naturally led to our expansion into the maintenance, repair and manufacturing of orchard sprayers, a service that remains a core part of the business today,” says Hendrik du Toit, Hekson Founder and Director.

For agricultural customers, the partnership means access to Wacker Neuson excavators, telehandlers and wheel loaders through a dealer that understands the demands of the local market. These machines have applications across Mpumalanga’s diverse agricultural landscape, including horticulture, fruit production, field crops, livestock, forestry and game farming. The Wacker Neuson 1445 telehandler is one example of the versatility on offer, with the ability to perform multiple tasks across an operation rather than being limited to a single application. “Having experience on the design and manufacturing side of equipment, even at a smaller scale, I can truly appreciate the practicality and impressive design of the Wacker Neuson line. Hekson’s existing service capability provides a strong foundation for supporting Wacker Neuson equipment, while our team will provide specialist technical expertise, training and access to original spare parts. Product selection and stock planning will be guided by the specific applications and machine configurations that make the most sense for customers in the region. “Training is central to this process. Our responsibility as the OEM manufacturer is to equip Hekson’s sales and technical teams with the expertise to hold application-based rather than simply product-based conversations with customers,” says Eric Berrington, Wacker Neuson Regional Manager: Gauteng, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga.
